Oh man, I’m so disappointed with this book right now, I can hardly even stand it. Stephenie Meyer is such a wonderful writer, but I can’t believe how much FLUFF is in this book. There is no reason it should be 754 pages. None. All of the repetition is driving me crazy!!
I’m almost done, and I’ll write more then.
But man, did I mention how disappointed I am?

That’s what Christine told me last week; too much fluff in the two manuscripts that I sent to her.
Lord, I thought I’d swept all the fluff off, blew it out into the wind to let it settle someplace else. Guess I didn’t do a good enough job. Plot is good. Characters are great. Conflict is wonderful. Still too much fluff.
Ugh.
I’ve got a few people doing a read for me. Two of them are editors I work with – talk about surreal, having fellow editors critique my writing. It’s a bit different situation for me, I suppose. BUT….I know that they’ll give me the straight poop about what I need to take out and where that invisible fluff is that needs to go. I swear, I can’t see it. Really, I must need a new pair of anti-fluff glasses – fluff words would blare out at me in RED so I knew they needed to go.
Other than the fluff, things are going well. Work is hectic, but still I’m loving it. The kids are home for (wait for my scream) two more weeks, and then they’ll be back within the confines of their elementary school. HockeyBoy is busy next week with a training camp with his new team. GiftedBoy doesn’t know what the hell he wants to do. Whatever. I’d pay for knitting classes for him right now if he asked for it. Oh well. He’ll find his passion some day, right? A parent can only hope.
I’ve got a new character hanging out in my head right now. Can’t get rid of him, and he’s only 16! Lord. Why is YA screaming at me lately? I barely read the stuff, but for some reason this 16 year-old hockey player won’t leave me alone. He’ll have to suffice with a few notes in my notebook and a few stray thoughts about him during the day. He seems to be happy with so little attention right now. I know that will change. Christine was excited to hear about him. Boy, we writers and agents are crazy!
Anyway, I’m really trying to get my act together with the blog, but the days are going by so fast…..what can I say?
Peace,
Kris

Birthday Card
My sister sent me this card yesterday for my 40th birthday. The inside reads, “Attitude is Everything.”
I think that is hilarious.
